-HOW YOU CAN HELP THOSE IMPACTED BY HURRICANE LAURA-
Many thanks to all who contributed to help the victims of Hurricane Laura recently. We partnered with three other churches to collect supplies. Hope Disaster Recovery then made three trips to John Knox Presbyterian Church to pick up and distribute the supplies to the residents of several small towns in Texas that are in dire need and have few resources. A number of monetary donations were also received and sent to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. All of the items that are in grocery bags were separated into categories of like-items and then boxed up and marked for distribution. We are very thankful for the hard work of our members and friends that helped with this project by separating and boxing items and those that took shifts to be there on the drop off dates.
Since some of the affected areas are still without power and water and rebuilding will take months to accomplish, the needs will continue. If you would like to help, there are a variety of ways to do that. Monetary donations may be made at https://txcdr.org/donate. A "wish list" on amazon where you can have items sent directly to a central location for distribution is found at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/L3Y4T39DUYW6?ref_=wl_share - just click on "TXCDR Hurricane Laura Household Supplies" or "TXCDR Hurricane Laura Tarping Supplies" on the left side of the page then shop for the supplies you wish to donate. At the end of your shopping you will need to choose the shipping address as "Hurricane Laura Regional Relief's Gift Registry Address."
