Prayer
Powerful God,
Your Spirit works daily to bring about your will through the lives of your people. Work in us that we might reflect your principles of love and mercy in all we do, through Jesus our Lord, Amen.

Psalm 103: 1-5
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
    and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
    and do not forget all his benefits--
3 who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the Pit,
    who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good as long as you live
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Gospel Reading:  Luke 11: 1-4
He was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them, “When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be your name.
    Your kingdom come.
3  Give us each day our daily bread.
4  And forgive us our sins,
      for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us.
      And do not bring us to the time of trial.”

Prayers of the People*
We pray for the church, the world, and all those in need.

When we look at the world, it is easy to see all that does not reflect your vision, O God, and be discouraged. Speak through us and the gifts you have given each of us, so that we may each be a point of light in the great constellation of Christ’s love. Renewing Spirit, hear our prayer

Your creation groans as it brings forth new life out of the dying and destroyed. Revive us all for a new day on this planet, which is our home and lifeline. Renewing Spirit, hear our prayer.

Use us to minister to those in need of all kinds of healing. Send your presence to the lost, suffering, and conflicted, and take special care of all those whom we know need your support, especially those affected in many ways by the pandemic. Renewing Spirit, hear our prayer.

Just as we will one day be gone from this earth, we remember all those who have gone before us, taking inspiration from their example and joy in their memory. Renewing Spirit, hear our prayer.

Receive our prayers; answer our deepest cries, and show us exactly where you need each of us to be, in the name of Jesus our savior, Amen.
 
Lord’s Prayer
And now with confidence as the children of God, let us pray as Jesus taught his disciples:  Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, now and forever.  Amen.  

Benediction:  The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you, and bring you peace.  Amen.
